Soccer Expert Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
Arsenal's ten-match winning streak was ended by Sunderland before the global hiatus, but can the Premier League frontrunners recover against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.
In week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
Murs' new record, the new release, is available on Friday.
Soccer and Family Experiences
Murs is a talented footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of several charity football games down the years - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a player.
"{I recently played in a benefit match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."
The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.
"I won't force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their Saturday soccer side," he added.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.
"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our side for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from fitness issues but their attack is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
In my opinion this game will be fairly tight, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their past two games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.
The Hammers' only away win this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.
Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?
I will go with the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a blip.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
The guest's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the season started, but they have impressed a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four matches.
A family member told me to select Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.
They have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a danger.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
The singer's view: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be rather tight. 1-1
AI's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.
Fulham have have plenty of talent in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.
Regarding Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.
Their performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not seen any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The logical choice to do to back the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the end of last month.
However I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they evidently love to defy my predictions.
Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the sole side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a good result, so I am going to say they will secure three points.
The expert's prediction: 1-0
The guest's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and also that Fulham are on a bad streak... but they have still been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a hard one to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
